The Manchester Pipe Band is a competition focused bagpipe band based in central Connecticut, USA. The band was founded in 1914 making it one of the oldest bagpipe bands in the nation. Our objective then, and the tradition we carry on today, is to perform traditional and contemporary bagpipe music at a high level.
The band draws bagpipers and drummers from throughout the Northeast whose main focus is preparation for and competition against other bagpipe bands. Under the auspices of the EUSPBA the band currently competes in Grade 2 throughout the eastern US & Canada. In addition to preparing current players the band has an active program of instruction for people interested in learning to play. Practices & instruction sessions are held weekly – contact the Pipe Major for more information.
The Manchester Pipe Band also performs at a variety of parades, graduations, and functions as well as public and private performances throughout the year in order to support our competition & instruction activities. The band is organized as a 501(c)3 non-profit – contact the Band President for more information about hiring the band for your event.
